Jean Larson is the author of the new book The Farmhouse: New Inspiration for the Classic American Home published by The Taunton Press. The intent of this book is to celebrate and explore current farmhouse design as inspired by the rich history of the type. The vernacular buildings of the farmstead have simple forms, practical yet sophisticated relationships between out buildings, and an inherent connection to the land and the seasons. The farmhouse continues to provide inspiration for houses today.
